  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice, cooked
  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage by coring it and blanching the leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until flexible.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper; mix thoroughly.
  3. Take a blanched cabbage leaf and add a portion of the filling; fold sides over and roll tightly from the bottom.
  4. Arrange stuffed rolls seam-side down in a large pot or Dutch oven.
  5. For the sauce, mix crushed tomatoes, beef broth, paprika, and marjoram in a bowl; pour over the rolls.
  6. Simmer covered on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender.
