  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 pound unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 8 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 drop pink food coloring (a very small drop)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder. In another bowl, cream together salted butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in sour cream and milk until combined; gradually add dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely before frosting with prepared buttercream.
